St Wystan’s School is a well established independent day school and nursery for boys and girls aged 2½ to 11.
St Wystan’s prides itself on its traditional values and family atmosphere. It has an outstanding academic record, successes in scholarships to senior schools, an excellent inspection report, along with motivated, well mannered and happy children. The small classes are limited to a maximum of twenty allowing each child to develop at their own rate and to achieve their full potential.
St Wystan’s is virtually unique in the area as it is not linked to any senior school allowing the head teacher and staff to work closely with parents to identify the right senior school for each child. The school has an excellent record in 11+ entrance exams with a high percentage of pupils achieving scholarships. Over the past few years scholarships have been awarded for academic ability, drama and music.
Music is a very important at St Wystan’s. There are three choirs and an orchestra which perform concerts both in school and in the local community.
St Wystan’s has the use of outstanding sports facilities within walking distance from the school and take part in swimming, football, rugby, netball, athletics, cross country, badminton, hockey to name but a few. Pupils regularly qualify for National championships.
Before school care is available from 7.30am and after school care until 6.30pm. There are also a wide range of extra curricular activities including dance, drama, card making, scrabble, board games, art, homework club, walking club and yoga.
