Highclare School is a member of the Girls' Schools Association. It has 3 sites situated in the North of Birmingham, all in easily accessible main road locations in Erdington or Sutton Coldfield. Private school transport runs from surrounding areas, including Lichfield, Tamworth, Aldridge & Coleshill and public transport is easily accessed by the nearby cross city rail link and bus services. It caters for girls from 18 months to 18 years and boys from 18 months to 11 years and 16 to 18 years. There are 680 pupils in the school, taught by over 150 qualified staff, including a Nursery Department from 18 months to 3 years.

The Preparatory Department offers full and part time places, giving boys and girls a sound base from which to start their education. This continues in the Junior Department, where a thorough structured academic education prepares pupils for entry to the Senior Department where GCSE and AS Level and Advanced Level examinations are taken leading to entry to university, including Oxbridge. Vocational subjects are also available in the Sixth Form.

The school offers scholarships to girls at 11+ and to boys and girls entering the Sixth Form. Specialist scholarships are offered in music, sport and art (+ Drama in Sixth Form)

A wide variety of sports activities is available and great success is achieved in the Department.

The Music Department runs many choirs and orchestras. A wide variety of individual instrumental lessons are available. Girls gain entry to the Birmingham ensembles. The Speech & Drama Department offers individual lessons leading to LAMDA exams and produces regular shows.

As part of their broad education the pupils at Highclare go on numerous visits to the theatre, art galleries, lectures, etc and the Fifth Form take part in work experience and the Sixth Form in work shadowing. A well informed careers department offers advice on further education.

Highclare creates a stable, caring environment in which each pupil is considered as an individual, and pupils are known by both the Headmistress and her staff. Regular parents' evenings are held and good relationships are developed between staff and parents. A high standard of discipline and appearance is expected at all times.

The aim of the school is to discover the strengths of each pupil and build on those to develop young people who will be confident to cope in the 21st century, achieving individual excellence in each student.
