Recognising potential and developing achievements
At Fulneck School we emphasise the value of each individual by encouraging the development of intellectual, creative, physical and spiritual qualities to the full. The result: successful young people, who are happy, secure and excel in all areas of life.
Fulneck School is a leading, co-educational school, located in Leeds, West Yorkshire. We educate young people between the ages of 3 and 18; boarders are accepted from the age of 8. Throughout their time here at Fulneck our pupils flourish and become confident, well-rounded, young adults.
We are first and foremost a centre of education; however, examination results are just a part of the Fulneck philosophy. The individual development of each pupil is underpinned by the encouragement of self-discipline and responsibility. Pupils follow the national curriculum and study towards public examinations, of which Fulneck exceeds national averages. The broad curriculum covers all aspects of life; spiritual, moral, social, academic, creative, cultural and physical, ensuring the balanced development of all pupils from the age of 3.
Fulneck School, incorporating Nursery and Kindergarten, is co-educational with outstanding GCSE and 'A' level results. The Sixth Form prepares students for university and professional careers.
In addition to the National Curriculum, pupils at Fulneck are taught French from the age of 9 with Spanish and German from the age of 12. We also continue to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics as three separate subjects throughout the Senior School in recognition of their importance. In the Sixth Form we offer a wide range of Advanced level subjects, together with new GCE courses, including PE, Politics, Psychology, AS Further Maths and AS Critical Thinking. All pupils study Information Technology.
The School is committed to high personal standards; there is a programme of sound pastoral care and a firm but fair discipline policy.
A specialist unit offers support in English as a foreign language. Dyslexic provision is nationally recognised by CReSTeD.
Students are encouraged to develop their own characters by taking part in the wide range of extra-curricular activities; sports, music, drama, technology, charity and community projects all flourish.
Our aim is that Fulneck boys and girls leave as mature, confident and capable young men and women, with a positive attitude towards themselves and others.
