Perrott Hill is a home from home, a small prep school with a strong family ethos. Mr Davies, the Headmaster, is determined to keep it that way. ‘It enables us to retain that family feel, where everyone knows everyone else, and at the same time offers more scope in encouraging our pupils to reach their very best personal potential.’ Each child has a pastoral tutor and the boarding is supervised by Mrs Davies.
The school is a co-educational boarding and day school housed in a Victorian manor set in 25 acres of beautiful gardens, woods and fields on the Somerset/Dorset border. There is an extensive extra curricular programme during the week with exciting weekend activities for pupils too. The average staying for weekends is now 25 pupils. Music, Drama and Art form a major part of the curriculum, and over 80% of children learn musical instruments. Every term there is a drama production. Sport is played every day. Perrott Hill is lucky enough to have special links with France. In Year 7 the children have the opportunity to spend a week in Paris and in Year 8 enjoy a week at the Headmaster’s House in Brittany.
The school has excellent KS1 and KS2 results and 100% pass rate at Common Entrance. Last year 10 of the 24 leavers gained Scholarships to their senior schools.
