A Word from the Head

Taunton Preparatory School has 470 pupils from 2-13 - 48 in Nursery, 82 in Pre-prep and 340 in the Prep. It has its own Headmaster, staff, buildings and grounds. Its objective is to provide an excellent and broad education in a friendly atmosphere and to ensure that all pupils make the most of their various talents. It works closely with the senior school (see entry under 'Taunton School’) to ensure continuity of education.

Significant investment in recent years has produced a large new classroom block, a new library and science laboratories, new Art and Technology rooms, a Music School, new sports hall and 25m indoor heated swimming pool. Classes are small so that teaching staff can give the closest possible attention to each child.

A comprehensive transport network using the school's own vehicles and drivers is available for day pupils aged 7 and over.

Taunton Preparatory School is above all a friendly and happy school where children are valued as individuals and encouraged to develop their talents.
