Hillgrove School is an independent day school catering for boys and girls from three years up to sixteen years of age and situated in the university City of Bangor, Gwynedd.
A relatively compact unit with around 160 pupils, Hillgrove is run as a Christian foundation but welcomes children of all religions and denominations.
Its size combined with a high staff/pupil ratio, makes for a friendly atmosphere in which each child, whatever their ability, can reach his or her full potential academically and in other activities including music and sport.
This has also meant that we are able to integrate new children into the school at virtually any time during the school year, and to offer the individual attention needed to ensure that there is minimal setback in educational progress. This can be of especial value where parents are seconded or posted to the North Wales area at short notice.
Our Kindergarten and Infant Department accepts children from the age of three, the Junior Department catering for seven to eleven year olds and the senior school from eleven to sixteen year old children.
Apart from well qualified staff, Hillgrove has also invested in up-to-date teaching facilities – a mix which has achieved excellent GCSE and other test and examination results.
Hillgrove pupils leave to go on to both private and state sector education with our sixteen year olds mostly going on to sixth form education or colleges of further education.
A school is a living thing; it is about people and how they develop and live together as a community. This text can only start to give you an impression of Hillgrove School. To really get to know what we are like you need to visit us, to experience the school, and its friendly atmosphere at first hand.
We welcome visitors but please contact us first to make an appointment and to tell us if you have any points of special interest that you would like to discuss.
