A Word from the Head

St George's School for Girls provides a warm, caring, stimulating and challenging environment in which our students learn and develop. Emphasis is placed on personal achievement, on responsibility and on a partnership with staff. There is a strong ethos of parental involvement.

Small classes, quality teaching, personal attention and excellent facilities combine to produce a balanced and stimulating environment within the broadly based structured curriculum.

Boarding is popular and Houldsworth House provides a comfortable home within the School for those who choose to board, with plenty of evening and weekend activities and opportunity for quiet study with friends.

St George's examination results at Standard Grade, Higher and Advanced Level, are outstanding. The vast majority of our leavers go on to higher education at University and college level, and thereafter demonstrate high levels of achievement in the workplace and in their personal lives.

Students can enter the School from Early Years (2-5) level upwards and thereafter there is a planned and structured progression to Sixth Form. The City centre campus is attractive, relaxed and well maintained, with a sports complex, music centre, art studio, ICT, dining centre, all weather pitches, Sixth form Reading room and refurbished Library.

Visit our web site, http://www.st-georges.edin.sch.uk for a full profile of St George's.
