Farnborough Hill is an independent, Roman Catholic day school for 500 girls aged 11 –18, which welcomes girls of all Christian denominations and of other faiths. The school is proud of its academic record. This year our A level students achieved a 100% pass rate, with 90% of all the results being at grades A or B and half of the year group gaining straight A grades. Everyone got into their first choice university. At GCSE one third of the year group gained all A* or A grades, with 61% of all the results at A* or A grades and 90% at A* to B grades. Five of our students were top performers nationally in Modern Languages.
Students are encouraged to enjoy their learning experience and to become lifelong learners. However, Farnborough Hill offers much more than a narrow academic curriculum. The school’s vision of ‘educating the whole person’ means that opportunities are provided for the spiritual, academic, emotional, physical, moral and social development of each pupil. Girls learn to accept and value themselves as individuals and to develop independence of thought and action.
Farnborough Hill is entirely committed to providing an environment that inspires in all its students warmth, friendship and enthusiasm for life and learning. A spirit of friendliness pervades the school and visitors comment on the palpable feeling of happiness. This relaxed atmosphere enables students to work hard, play hard and give of their best at all times.
The wonderful atmosphere at Farnborough Hill is enhanced by the beauty of its surroundings. The school buildings consist of the Victorian home of the late Empress Eugenie of France, together with a purpose built school and magnificent 1930s art deco chapel. All of the buildings are Grade One listed and set in sixty acres of stunning parkland. A new sports hall has been built, enhancing the already vibrant sports offering at the school. The school can also claim one of the most accessible positions in the South East.
The aim at Farnborough Hill is to find and nurture in each student that which is unique in her and to permit her to excel in every way she can. The school promotes personal responsibility and encourages respect for others, both in the school and in the wider community. Its success is demonstrated in far more than an impressive academic record. Visitors to Farnborough Hill often comment on the happy faces that they see and the polite, kind and self confident students that they encounter as they tour the school.
