INTRODUCTION
Cherwell is a well-established, fully co-educational day and residential College that prepares some 150 students each year for their GCSE and A level examinations.

Founded over thirty years ago, the College is very much steeped in the historic splendour and heritage of its location, at Greyfriars and Manor Parks in the heart of the university City of Oxford.

Cherwell has, over its history, established and maintained a sound reputation based upon its founding principles, most notably, treating the student as an individual; offering first class teaching by a highly committed and dedicated staff; providing a learning environment that is positive and highly motivating, encourages industry and responsibility, yet is both enjoyable and highly rewarding.

COLLEGE FACILITIES
Cherwell occupies two outstanding sites in central Oxford – Greyfriars, situated in the heart of the university and Manor Parks, in Norham Manor, overlooking the university parks. At Greyfriars, the main buildings, The Master’s Lodgings, Cloisters and Friary Centre offer facilities that include Information Technology and computing room, science laboratory, lecture theatre, tutorial rooms, common room and bistro. Manor Parks houses the Art department, with in-house provision for Ceramics; Photography; Craft, Design and Technology; Music Technology; Film and Media Studies. There is a Theatre and Stage for Drama and Music Productions, around twenty classrooms and a conservatory for reading and relaxation. In addition Cherwell has five Halls of Residence located in North Oxford.

THE COURSES
Cherwell provides an enjoyable yet challenging system of tuition that focuses on the requirements and needs of the individual, whilst encouraging a positive interaction with others. There is an atmosphere of great understanding which encourages students to develop their abilities to the full and thus acquire self-confidence and self-discipline. The timetable at Cherwell is very individual, full, structured and closely supervised.

ACCOMMODATION
Cherwell makes sound provision for the accommodation and welfare of its students.

The college owns and supervises with its own full-time staff, five Halls of Residence, which accommodate around 100 students and are located within easy walking distance of College.

Alternatively, students may live with a family or self-cater in a flat or bedsit. The full-time Welfare and Accommodation Officer will advise and together with the student’s supervisor keep a watchful eye on general well-being.

All sports are offered at Cherwell together with the opportunity of enjoying a rich and colourful termly programme of social activities.
