Barrow Hills is a Catholic Independent Day School for girls and boys between the ages of 3 and 13 years which warmly welcomes children from all denominations. It is set in 40 acres of attractive gardens and playing fields about 8 miles south of Guildford. We know that as a parent you wish your child to be very happy at school as well as having a wide range of outstanding educational opportunities. At Barrow Hills we fully recognise the importance of academic success but we also value each child’s development and achievements in social skills, sport, art, music, drama and many other rewarding activities. The most recent inspection report clearly captures the spirit of our school: ‘The good academic standards, the good quality of pastoral provision, and the consideration for others are all features of the school and are indicative of its success in meeting its aspirations.’
The children benefit from modern facilities including a science laboratory, computer suite and an art & design centre that provides opportunities to study textiles, ceramics, food technology and photography.
Music and drama are important aspects of school life and there are regular drama productions and concerts for children of all ages.
An impressive range of games is offered including rugby, soccer, netball, hockey, tennis, athletics and judo. The school has its own covered, heated swimming pool.
There are strong links with good senior schools and many of our pupils have been awarded scholarships.
