Having arrived in Ashford from rural Devon, I am surprised to find this lovely 30 acre campus amazingly quiet, despite the fact that St David’s is so well placed for road, rail and air links.
September 2007 will be a fresh start for everyone at St David’s though I doubt my values and vision will be very different from those of my predecessor. My message to all for this academic year is this: I want St David’s to be synonymous with endeavour, I want to foster a community in which everyone is shown respect and courtesy, where each individual is encouraged to learn and achieve, where we work together to overcome fears, disappointments or setbacks and become confident enough to make the most of our opportunities and talents.
I am also excited at the new climate of educational thinking that is discernible as the awareness grows that we are preparing our pupils for a world markedly different from the one for which many of us were prepared. Whether you are a current or a prospective parent, do come and see us either at an Open Day or make an appointment to come and see the oldest ‘new girl’ at St David’s School.
