A Word from the Head

Farringtons is a dynamic and inspirational school with outstanding facilities and resources. Farringtons is dedicated to providing your child with the best education possible within a happy, purposeful and stimulating environment. The School offers a broad and balanced curriculum that encourages each pupil to fulfil his or her full potential.

Conveniently located close to London, on the border of Kent, in 25 acres of attractive leafy grounds, Farringtons has good local and regional transport links and is also easily accessible from the M25, Eurostar terminals and major airports.

Recent refurbishment and development has provided modern, full-equipped classrooms and science laboratories, designated learning support and careers centres and impressive technology workshops. Members of the Sixth Form have their own study centre and IT is widely used throughout the School. The swimming pool facilities are being enhanced to provide year-round swimming.

From September 2010, Farringtons, which has traditionally been girls only in the Senior School, will admit boys into Year 7 and the Lower Sixth. This will then be followed with a gradual progression towards full co-education in 2014.

Farringtons, which has over 500 pupils aged between 3 and 19, already has a successful co-educational Pre-Reception, reception and Junior School.

Farringtons actively promotes the holistic development of the whole person in order to enable pupils to deal confidently with the challenges of modern life. As well as a huge variety of extra-curricular activities, all pupils are encouraged to contribute to various charity initiatives undertaken throughout the school year.

Supportive Environment for Boarders

Full or weekly boarding provides a safe, stable caring environment for pupils and offers them a huge range of new opportunities and experience. Our comfortable, well-equipped boarding accommodation consists of homely, spacious bed/study rooms, with network and internet access. Where possible, members of the Upper Sixth each have their own room. Our experienced House Staff will help your child settle in quickly and become part of the School’s extended family. Boarding pupils enjoy a range of evening activities and a programme of weekend excursions.

Our highly competitive weekly boarding fees provide a happy solution for those parents who wish to prioritise schoolwork and activities during the week. It also enables attendance for those whose daily travel is difficult and ad hoc boarding is also available for pupils who need to board for short periods when parents are away.
