The school has recently expanded, so that it can continue to act as the community school locally and accept more boarders from beyond the immediate locality. In 1994/5 the school opened a new Science Block and a completely rebuilt and greatly re-stocked Library. Since then a new classroom block has been built, astro-turf facility laid and a new sports hall completed.
Boarders come from all walks of life and are accommodated in two Houses. Applications come from both the UK and abroad and are particularly welcome for 11+ entry.
