Greenfields School is an independent primary school for children with emotional, social and behavioural special needs.
The school has a capacity for a maximum of 15 pupils, who are taught in small groups by well-qualified staff. Staff training is focused and ongoing, and the atmosphere of our school is warm, friendly and supportive. Greenfields School follows the National Curriculum to Key Stage 2 within a structured school week, meets all the requirements of the DfES, and has received an excellent Ofsted report.
The school is part of the Greenfields Therapeutic Community, along with Greenfields House Children’s Home run by Childhood First, a children’s charity offering therapeutic residential, educational and placement and family support to children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Some of the school’s pupils come from Greenfields House, while other day pupils live locally.
We maintain a safe and secure environment so that pupils can engage with learning, and benefit from clear instruction and well-planned activities designed to meet their needs.
Literacy, Numeracy and PSHE form the core of each school day. All the children at our school have full access to the National Curriculum and enjoy PE, Games, Music, Drama and a range of extra-curricular activities and visits.
Every child at Greenfields School has access to a broad and balanced curriculum differentiated to meet their particular needs in an environment which is safe, happy and stimulating, giving the child confidence and improving his or her self-esteem.
The staff are committed to working together to support children in their development and learning. It is also through teamwork that the staff group support each other in what is sometimes difficult, frequently challenging, hugely rewarding and extremely important work.
