A Word from the Head

Oakhurst Lodge is a 52 week registered, residential provision for 8 young people aged 16 - 25 who have Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Learning Difficulties and associated Challenging Behaviours. The purpose is to provide ongoing support, in continuation of the Hill House ethos, with an emphasis on developing life and vocational and appropriate intellectual skills according to individual need.

Oakhurst Lodge is being set up in order to build on and maintain the progress previously achieved, by each individual. We believe that, through a transition programme, this continued support will enable our young people to consolidate their achievements and give them crucial time to develop the fundamental skills they need to make a successful transition into adult life.

Oakhurst Lodge is situated on the outskirts of the New Forest in a community setting, between Southampton and Lyndhurst. Its position is ideal for access to rail, bus and local shops and with the benefits of the Forest, coast and larger city amenities to hand. A Parent Liaison Officer is available to discuss, in confidence, a child's specific needs and we are delighted to help with any questions or to arrange a visit to the school.
