As its name suggests the school is housed in a gothic looking building that Harry Potter would love, with towers on each of its corners. One might even think that a quality boarding education for such amazingly low fees is indeed magic! The school is set in the sleepy hamlet of Upper Beeding in West Sussex and yet is only 40 minutes from Gatwick and London. The Towers has been a school for over 100 years when the first five pupils arrived from France and although the school has grown it still has an excellent reputation for all that it does This year it came top, once again, in the value-added league tables but at the heart of the community is Christian love: all people of whatever race, colour, creed or satus are welcome and have equal worth and opportunity. Girls may board from the age of 9 and weekend activities are organized for them.
In addition to a dedicated, well-qualified staff The Towers is proud to have the Sportsmark award for sporting excellence. Its teams are renowned in the area and the recently resurfaced tennis courts and refurbished swimming pool are among its many assets. The school has active and prizewinning debating and public-speaking teams and a strong choral speaking tradition. Each year there is a spectacular musical performance which includes any girl who wants to take part. This tradition is supported by Junior and Senior choirs and orchestras.
As with all thriving schools there is an ongoing building programme and September 2006 saw the opening of a new wing consisting of 8 new classrooms, a careers room, two new laboratories, a drama and dance studio. September 2007 will see the opening of the St Cecilia Music Suite: a music room, three practice rooms and a recording studio.
The continuing presence of The Sisters of The Blessed Sacrament ensures a calm atmosphere which simply has to be experienced. Fulfilment at affordable fees!
