NEWLANDS SCHOOL provides quality education for boarding and day girls and boys from two and a half years to university entrance on one campus.

LOCATION. Newlands is situated in a 21 acre campus in a pleasant coastal town surrounded by an area of outstanding natural beauty. Good communication links with Gatwick (37 miles) Heathrow (78 miles) and London (65 miles).

HIGH ACADEMIC STANDARDS. At Newlands we expect pupils to attain results that are well above the National Average.

At Newlands we also place an emphasis on fully developing your child's potential. The wide range of activities available make it possible for every pupil to achieve success and confidence in one field or another.

Classes are small and a pupil's progress is monitored carefully. The arts flourish with thriving music, drama, sports, dance and art departments.

ACADEMIC AND SPORTS FACILITIES. Our facilities include five high-tech computer rooms, sports hall, a large Art studio, a design technology workshop, an assembly hall/theatre, music room and dance studio.

There are the equivalent of eight football pitches, a heated indoor swimming pool, a hard playing surface for three tennis/netball courts, a gymnasium, and a sports hall. There are opportunities for many sports including soccer, hockey, rugby, netball, cricket, athletics, volleyball, basketball, squash, badminton, tennis and cross-country running.

PERFORMING ARTS COURSE. A theatre arts course is available to students who wish to specialise in Dance, Drama, Music and Art within an academic environment.

SCHOLARSHIPS. Academic, art, Performing Arts, sport and music scholarships are available and there is a generous discount for Service families.

LEARNING SUPPORT. Gifted students, Dyslexic pupils and those learning English as a foreign language may be taught by specialist staff in our well-equipped, purpose-built specialist centre. Staff provide individual programmes of learning on a one-to-one basis.

TRANSPORT. When required, pupils are escorted to Gatwick, Stansted and Heathrow airports and met on in coming flights. Newlands' minibuses provide transport to Victoria Station and other pre-arranged destinations.
