A Word from the Head

At St Leonards-Mayfield School, girls will find the space to be themselves, within a challenging yet supportive environment. Mayfield girls learn how to combine rigorous academic study with a diverse range of activities beyond the classroom, while still finding the time to be still and know God. When they come to leave at the end of the Sixth Form, they will have matured into educated and independent young women, confident in their beliefs and prepared to make a positive difference in the world in which they find themselves, a force for good in responding to the challenges of the 21st century.

Of course, it is important to achieve the finest possible examination results, but the best independent learners know there is much more to education than simply achieving A grades. At Mayfield, we encourage girls to educate their mind, body, heart and soul. Every pupil has unique potential and, from the day she joins us, we support each girl to develop a love of learning, sound working habits and a responsibility for her own learning. In this way, she will become the best that she can be, academically, socially, physically and spiritually.
