Head PhotoLucton is a thriving co-educational school, set in beautiful Herefordshire countryside, with historic buildings. We build on our 300 year heritage and traditions to provide a stimulating and forward-looking environment. Lucton is a small school, where pupils feel accepted, valued and secure: all our pupils know each other well and newcomers settle in quickly.

The School comprises a Nursery (up to 4 years), Pre-prep and Prep School for ages 4 to 11 years, and Senior School and Sixth Form, for ages 11 to 18.

Approximately a quarter of our pupils are boarders - on either a full or 'flexi' basis. Each boarder has his or her own room, although younger pupils may choose to share. House-parents' own children attend the school and there is a real family atmosphere within the boarding community.

The Sixth Form centre offers some 26 subjects at A level and excellent facilities. Lucton provides an exciting setting for young people to flourish both academically and socially and our teachers are justly proud of having helped many students achieve the best possible start in life.

Our leavers achieved an impressive 55% A* and A grades at A level this year. This is well above the national average and puts Lucton, with its highly inclusive admissions policy, alongside many leading selective schools. This is a huge credit to the students themselves and testament to the quality of teaching and small class sizes. The majority of Lucton leavers will take up places in Russell Group universities.

Uniquely, Lucton offers an 'Access to A Level' course, designed to provide overseas students with the grounding they need in a range of subjects and incorporating accelerated learning of the English language.

Lucton fields competitive teams across a range of sports. We have a heated swimming pool and our own Equestrian Centre, where pupils can not only learn to ride for pleasure or to competitive standard but may keep their own horse at school! There is a myriad of indoor and outdoor opportunities, including Forest School in the lower school and Combined Cadet Force and Duke of Edinburgh Award in the senior school.

Attending an open day is a great way of seeing all we have to offer at Lucton. You are warmly invited to come and meet us at one of these events - or we would be delighted to make a private appointment.
