Clevelands Nursery and Preparatory School offers a traditional academic education in a caring, stimulating environment. The school and nursery department are open to boys and girls between the ages of 2.75 and 11 years.
We aim to give our pupils a stimulating and challenging curriculum linking strong, traditional values with the best of new educational initiatives. The range of experiences on offer ensures that our pupils have a broad curriculum which combines the National Curriculum with our own successful Educational programme. It also ensures that emphasis is placed on developing and celebrating each child’s individual talents.
The school's family values are built on kindness, a sense of belonging, mutual respect and consideration of one another. The pupils spend each day in a happy, caring, work orientated environment in which their needs are prioritised and catered for by dedicated and highly qualified teachers.
Pupils have a proud record of academic success in entrance examinations and scholarships for entry into the leading day senior schools. They also excel in other fields such as art, drama, music and sport. A significant number of pupils play at least one musical instrument. Clevelands' children compete successfully in local, regional and national sporting competitions. Pupils are taught by specialist teachers from Nursery upwards. Specialist teaching increases as the pupils move through the school.
Facilities at Clevelands include a fully networked Computer Suite. In the art/design and technology studio pupils can explore all media. The science laboratory is fully equipped with the latest technology. Our sporting facilities include netball court and football pitch.
A myriad of extra curricular activities take place during lunchtimes and after school. A thriving programme of external Educational and Theatre visits exists as well as the opportunity for the children to encounter a variety of new and exciting experiences internally. Ski-ing trips take place annually.
Our pupils develop into well rounded, self-assured, competent young people who will meet the challenges of life with enthusiasm and vigour.
Before and after school care and a Holiday Club is available to all.
Most pupils enter the school in September of any year but the Head Teacher is happy to consider requests for admission for children of any age during the academic year, should circumstances so warrant. Entry to the Nursery is on-going throughout the year as a child reaches the appropriate age.
