Head PhotoSt Edmund's is an Independent College for everyone who appreciates the values of a Catholic education. It is a fully co-educational, day and boarding school for pupils aged 3 to 18.

A guided tour will allow you to see the College at work and understand from staff and students what makes St Edmund's such a special place. When you arrive at St Edmund's you cannot help but be impressed by its buildings and its location: when you leave, however, what you will remember will be its people.

What makes an Edmundian is the combination of academic endeavour, spiritual awareness and a strong sense of personal and social responsibility.

Few schools can boast such a proud and colourful history as St Edmund's College, the oldest Catholic school in England. Located on a beautiful 400 acre site in the East Hertfordshire countryside. Although its heritage and ethos is deeply rooted in the Catholic tradition, the College welcomes students from all faiths and denominations, who appreciate the values of a Catholic Education.

Scholarship is at the heart of our Mission and our students are encouraged to learn, to explore and to ask the difficult questions. Small classes ensure that the academic progress of each student is monitored and at every stage we adjust our teaching to suit the ability and needs of each child.

St Edmund's Prep is located within the College grounds, and provides wonderful opportunities for learning and play for girls and boys aged 3-11 years in a quiet, rural setting.

Entry to the senior school is usually at 11+ or 16+, and although the majority of children attend as day students, a range of flexible Boarding options are also available.

As well as the impressive historical facade of the main building that resembles a large stately home, the College boasts excellent teaching and sports facilities including; state-of-the art computer suites, a recently refurbished library, art and design technology workshops, science laboratories, large sports hall, floodlit all-weather sports pitch, tennis courts, an indoor heated swimming pool and dedicated Sixth Form Centre.

Outside the classroom, all students are encouraged to develop their full potential by participating in the College’s many sporting competitions and musical and drama productions, as well as taking part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

Situated between London and Cambridge, the College is easily accessible by road and rail and is conveniently located near to London’s Stansted Airport. There is an extensive bus service for students aged 11 and above, with routes spanning North London, Enfield, Hertfordshire and Essex.
