Our Lady's Convent School is a Catholic day school that extends a warm welcome to children of all faiths and denominations. It educates girls from 3 to 18 and boys from 3 to 11. The focus is very much on the individual child and their personal progress and achievement at all levels. Our next Open Event would be an excellent time to see our Senior and Primary School Departments in action on a normal working day and view our facilities.
At all stages of their education, our students receive individual attention in guaranteed small classes. They are helped, encouraged and supported rather than pressured. Academic achievement is high at all levels. Recently Year 13 achieved a pass rate of 99 per cent with 85 per cent of students gaining A* to C grades whilst Year 11 had 100 per cent of students achieving grades A* to C. A wide variety of GCSE and A levels are offered in the Senior Department. Academic Support is excellent for all students in all areas. 99 per cent of our students go on to university to study a wide range of subjects. In addition there are numerous cultural, musical and sporting activities. Music and Drama have a very high profile in school and girls have taken part in the national Shakespeare Festival. A wide variety of extra curricular activities is on offer. The school successfully participates in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and the Young Enterprise Scheme.
The school is a registered charity and its policy is to continually enhance the facilities available to our students and to improve our service to them and their parents. All departments are well resourced and ICT facilities are excellent and updated regularly. Our most recent development is a refurbishment and re-equipping of the Early Years/Infant Department.
The School campus is an attractive walled area; an oasis of calm, near the centre of Loughborough. Open Days are held during working school days and visitors continually note the happy classroom environment and the mutual respect between students, staff and visitors. Some of our students are with us from 3 to 18 but others are very welcome to join at other stages of their education.
The Pelican Club provides before and after school care for a small additional cost.
