Word From The Head

From Dr Olwen Wright, Headmistress

St Nicholas’ School has an outstanding reputation for high academic achievement across a broad curriculum, excellent pastoral care and a wide range of enrichment opportunities.

What sets St Nicholas’ School apart from other schools is our friendly atmosphere, sense of community and strong educational ethos. Our children are inspired to learn and grow at their own pace, developing their unique talents whilst fostering a lifelong love of learning.

Founded in 1935, St Nicholas’ School is set within 30 glorious acres of Hampshire countryside. Despite our enviable rural location, we are easily accessible. A through-school that educates girls from 2 to16 and boys from 2 to 7 in a safe and nurturing environment, our younger pupils have the unique benefit of engaging with and learning from specialist senior school teachers from a young age.

What you see when you come through our fantastic school gates is that so much of what we do is built around having fun. We know that children learn best when they are happy, so our ethos is very much about finding the fun in all activities. We are passionate about supporting children’s academic, emotional and social wellbeing, enabling them to develop well-rounded perspectives, strong values and a growth mindset.

Our small class sizes develop curiosity, creativity and a love of learning, whilst our specialist teaching allows pupils to be stretched and supported, ensuring we consistently achieve outstanding GCSE results.

At St Nicholas’ everyone is valued, everyone is someone.

We are a happy and welcoming community and I extend an invitation to you to come and visit us in person, to meet our fabulous pupils and staff, and see for yourself.
