Head PhotoRoyal Russell, founded in 1853, is a co-educational independent HMC day and boarding school in a 110-acre parkland setting, yet only 30 minutes from Central London and only an hour from Heathrow and Gatwick international airports.

Royal Russell is a blend of majestic older buildings and ultra-modern facilities, outstanding for a medium-sized school. Recent major developments have included a new multimedia library and sixth-form centre, formally opened by our Patron, Her Majesty The Queen, an extension to our Sports Hall to provide a new gymnasium with changing rooms and a superb swimming pool. Extensive ICT facilities enhance all teaching departments. Construction has recently been completed on a Music and Performing Arts Centre. This development now provides additional classrooms as well as a new kitchen and a Sixth Form Cafe area.

At Royal Russell hard work combines with a relaxed and supportive atmosphere, drawing on the best aspects of both day and boarding traditions. Our highly dedicated specialist staff offer a broad and balanced curriculum, with almost all pupils passing on to a university of their choice.

Boarders are quickly integrated into Royal Russell’s friendly and busy community. Extra English tuition is available within the normal school fees. The international nature of the school is highlighted by our reputation for its high-profile role in the Model United Nations Programme, annually hosting the largest UK conference and sending delegations to conferences in UK and abroad.

Royal Russell has a strong commitment to the care and nurturing of the individual in the areas both of academic achievement and of personal development. There is a large CCF at school and an extensive range of other after-school opportunities allows for a wide variety of talents and skills to be developed.

I hope that you will come to visit us and discover what Royal Russell can offer you.
