Head PhotoWhen you arrive at Kent College your first impression is the beautiful, rural setting and the superb views of the Kent countryside. Set in 75-acres of beautiful parkland, just 3 miles from Tunbridge Wells, the school offers excellent day and boarding facilities for girls age 11-18 , with a separate Preparatory school for girls aged 3-11.

EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES
Building self-esteem is at the heart of our ethos. All girls get a chance to shine, try something different, feel good about themselves and develop new and existing talents. Exciting opportunities to develop confidence are an integral part of school life and include music, drama and sports tours, debating tournaments, Film Festivals, Fashion designer competitions and exchanges to Europe, Australia and America. Over the last year, the school has launched three Academies specialising in Gymnastics, Theatre and Swimming. Students can attend these academies with specialist teaching and workshops held on saturdays with professional staff. Kent College offers a diverse and breath-taking range of over 100 over extra-curricular activities including beekeeping, horse riding, Zumba dance and cupcake making. The school also offers the Leith’s Food & Wine Course.

Our aim is to equip students with the confidence, skills and positive attitude to succeed in their examinations, at university, in their chosen career and in life ahead.

EXCELLING IN ALL AREAS
Kent College is a happy school with high academic standards and excellent GCSE and A-level results. Pupils have a record of success in gaining places at top universities to study a variety of courses, from medicine to engineering, architecture to fashion journalism. The Higher Education support is outstanding and girls are well prepared for University applications and encouraged to understand the world of work with work experience placements, university visits, presentations from visiting businesses, careers conventions with local business and an annual Women in Leadership Conference.

The Christian ethos at Kent College gives a clear moral framework, pupils are well mannered, discipline is good and we show respect for each other. It is a busy vibrant school where we enjoy doing things as a whole community, be it a barbeque lunch or a theatre trip to London’s West End. This christian ethos extends further into our global community with pupils fundraising earnestly for The Kent College School in Nepal. Girls are able to visit and help teach and refurbish parts of the school in western Nepal which they find incredibly rewarding.

FACILITIES AND LOCATION
Modern, architect-designed facilities include homely boarding houses, a state of the art theatre, dance studio, large sports hall, music centre, science centre and indoor swimming pool. There are modern IT suites around the campus and all students have email and broadband Internet access. An iconic art and library building is currently being built ready for 2012 and includes an open plan library space, cafe, art studios and exhibition space.

BOARDING, A HOME FROM HOME
Full, weekly and flexible boarding is provided in small, family-run units and girls can board from age 10. With increasing demands on parents’ time at both ends of the day, flexible boarding and an optional extended day have become very popular. Day pupils of any age can come early to school for breakfast, stay late for supper taking advantage of the school facilities for study or recreation, or spend the occasional or regular night at school.

LOCATION
The school is in a beautiful, safe haven, yet only 3 miles from the town of Tunbridge Wells, 15 minutes from the M25 and 40 minutes from London by train, less than an hour from Gatwick Airport, an hour from Heathrow Airport, and in easy reach of seaports and the Eurotunnel. Daily transport for day girls, and airport transport for boarders, are provided.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES
Academic, music, drama, sport and art scholarships are available. Means tested bursaries are also available. A 20% discount is available for HM Forces families, diplomats and foreign office employees.
