A Technicolor Success for Caterham School Students

On December 4th, 5th and 6th, Caterham School students performed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in the School's theatre. There were four performances, including the matinee, and it was a full house for each performance.

The role of Joseph was played by Hugo Soer (Fourth Year) with Annabelle Van Dort (Fifth Year), Belle McVeigh (Lower Sixth) and Jessica Reeve (Fourth Year) as the narrators. The School orchestra provided the music and pupils from Caterham Prep School formed the Dream Choir.

Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the musical relies entirely on songs to tell the story from the Book of Genesis about Joseph being sold into slavery and his successful rise to power because of his abilities.

Head of Drama, Mrs Louise Fahey said: 'One of the many reasons that we put on a major musical production every year is to give a large number of students the opportunity to be part of the company. They can discover that they have skills in a number of roles ranging from costume design to make-up, to lighting and sound technicians. I was very impressed with the way everyone involved worked hard to contribute to this success. They can all be proud of this wonderfully entertaining production.'
