2nd prize at the national contest for vocals solo

Having just finished her 'Abitur' (final school leaving examination) she can now be proud of another great success in a completely different field: Being the first Salem Student ever to take part in such a singing competion, Caroline Jacobi from Christiane Schmeling's vocal class presented herself brilliantly and in her age group, out of 47 participants she won 2nd prize with 23 points.

Singing in the Lessingtheater in Wolfenbttel at Whitsun, she was accompanied on the piano by Elena Orlowa, and convinced the jury with her soprano interpretation of 'Auf Flgeln des Gesangs' by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and the suaheli version of the contemporary composition 'Der Turm zu Babel' by Mauricio Kagel.

We congratulate her for this excellent achievement and also for the Abitur! Congratulations also to her vocal teacher Christiane Schmeling!
