Best GCSE rssults ever achieved at Long Close Shool

Staff and pupils at Long Close School are celebrating after achieving record results for a second year in a row.

100% of the pupils gained 5 or more A* to C grades, with 42% of all grades being awarded A* or A, and 72% of grades awarded at A*-B. All of these percentages are up on last year, which itself was a record year.

Results were particularly strong in Additional Science, English Literature and English Language, with over 50% of the students achieving either an A* or A in these critical subjects.

The Headmaster, Mr Brendan Pavey said, 'I am so proud of these exceptional results. This is such wonderful news overall and also comprises a number of outstanding individual successes. It is gratifying that the effort and determination of our pupils have been rewarded. I would like to thank all of the staff for their hard work, and for going the extra mile to make this possible. Once again they are the best results Long Close School has ever achieved, and there is much to celebrate!'
