Sherborne Girls is celebrating a third set of outstanding results
Following the announcement of record results at A level and IB of 62% of grades at A* and A, Sherborne Girls is pleased to announce an equally impressive performance at GCSE.
This year, two-thirds of all GCSE papers have achieved an A* or A grade, with 33% of papers achieving an A*.
45% of girls achieved 8 or more A*/A grades. 93% of candidates achieved A* or A in at least one subject.
Special mentions go to Rosanna Miller who achieved an outstanding 12 A* grades, scoring full marks in a number of her subjects including Greek and all three sciences, and Blanca Rivero who achieved 12 A* grades and 1 A. They were followed closely by Emily Pope with 11 A* grades and Frances Budd, Mary Butler and Ella Penton-Voak, whose results each included 10 A* grades, and Dawnee Kanjanapas who achieved 9 A* and 2 A grades. Congratulations also go to Eloise Newman, Grace Palmer, Lara Taylor, Valerie Tsoi and Maya Whitman, whose results included 8 A*s.
Commenting on the results, Headmistress Jenny Dwyer said, “Congratulations to all the girls who worked so hard to achieve these excellent results. We are delighted that our strength in STEM subjects is demonstrated, as it was with our A level results, with girls achieving 46% at A* and 76% at A*/A in separate sciences and maths, including 100% A* for Further Maths GCSE. There are some amazing individual achievements and we are extremely proud of all our students, especially as so many of them are involved in activities such as Music, Drama, Duke of Edinburgh at a very high level.”
