Leweston School, Sherborne, is delighted to be celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results. 34% of examinations were passed at A* with 59% of all entries passed at A* or A. 84% of examinations were passed at A*, A or B. Congratulations to the 30% of all candidates who achieved 9 or more A or A* grades and to the 17% of girls who got 9 A* grades or more. Particularly notable were the results in the subjects of Latin and Further Maths. 100% of the pupils taking Latin achieved an A* with 94% of the candidates taking Further Maths (representing 37% of the year group) achieving an A* or A. Congratulations to Beth McMillan and Elizabeth Hobbs who both achieved 11 A* grades. Beth and Elizabeth are both academic scholars at Leweston. Kate Reynolds, incoming Head at Leweston commented “It is wonderful to see such strong academic results from this multi-talented year group. Their achievements across the subject and ability range are as impressive as the list of additional accolades they have garnered in music, sport and outdoor education; all testament to the benefits of an all girls’ education where Leweston girls achieve to the best of their ability both inside and beyond the classroom.”
