Godolphin A-level Results 2015

Godolphin School, Salisbury are celebrating an excellent year of A-level results with the percentage of A* awards, and A* - B awards, higher than last year and the percentage of A* - C grades amongst the highest in the past five years. A-level exams were written in 25 subjects with particularly strong results returned from Art, Biology, English, Geography, History and Maths. The majority of students have secured entry to university and destinations include Oxford (Classics), Bristol (Politics & International Relations, Philosophy & Theology, History), Bath (Modern Languages, Biochemistry), Newcastle (Biomedical Sciences), Exeter (History, Exercise and Sports Sciences, PPE), Warwick (Accounting & Finance), Bournemouth (Scriptwriting for Film & TV), Durham (Psychology), Hull York Medical School (Medicine), and Chichester (Musical Theatre & Acting for Film). Mrs Emma Hattersley, Head, has congratulated the students, their parents and staff at Godolphin on the excellent results. “I am really pleased with the overall results, particularly the increase of A* from 11% in 2014 to 13% this year, and also the fact that several girls exceeded our expectations. The range of tertiary education the girls are going on to illustrates the diversity of their talents and indeed, of what we offer educationally.” “This has been a group who have not only done well academically but they have been involved at school in a huge number of other ways – prefects, drama, art, music and sport to mention a few – and every girl has participated in the Elizabeth Godolphin Award, which is a programme offering exponential extension and ensuring that our leavers are equipped with valuable life skills in addition to having excellent academic results.” Head Girl Sarah Roller scored two A* and an A and Head Scholar Tilly Fitzwilliams an A* and two As. Twins Natasha and Sophie Kelly have two A*, an A and a couple of Bs to celebrate during National Twins Week, and youngest student in the group, Miranda Mackay (17), will be going to Oxford University (Merton College) to study Classics. Emma Aubrey was awarded two A* and an A as well as an A* for her EPQ (Extended Project Qualification). Other students achieving all A or A* were Holly Ayres, Elizabeth Cooper, Ella Doyle, Christy Ho, Alice Tetley, Elizabeth Warwick-Smith and Ally Whittle. Godolphin Sixth Form students are able to enrol in the Leiths Cookery Course offered at the school, and the Leiths Food Scholar for 2015, Georgia Burgess, achieved a Distinction from Leiths and an A* in Food Technology. AS results were equally pleasing and Head Scholar for 2015/16, Emilia Ames, achieved an outstanding five As in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Latin, with full marks in many papers. Janice Chow achieved five As in Biology, Chemistry, Chinese, Economics and Maths.
