The Royal Masonic School for Girls appoints new Head from January 2017


The Royal Masonic School for Girls Announces the Appointment of Mr Kevin Carson as its new Head. Mr Carson will take up the role in January 2017, upon the retirement of Mrs Diana Rose.

Kevin Carson is currently the co Interim Head of The Grammar School at Leeds where he has been instrumental in improving the academic performance across year groups while maintaining a strong commitment to the pastoral care of his pupils.

In a 12 year career within education, Kevin has been the Head of English and Drama and also a boarding house tutor at Cheltenham College and Abingdon School.
Commenting on this appointment, he said: “I am delighted to have been offered the post of Head at The Royal Masonic School for Girls. Combining as it does a unique sense of the history, a strong ethos of academic excellence and a commitment to the pastoral care of its pupils in both day and boarding environments the School is a perfect fit - both with my experience, and with my own views on how a school should be run.

I am looking forward to meeting the RMS community over the coming months.”
Diana Rose, current head said: “Kevin is the perfect candidate for this role. He has a strong understanding of our culture and values, as well as a strong intellect and proven leadership skills. I am looking forward to helping him transition into the role as I approach my retirement.”
