Leadership conference with a difference - 25 May 2016

For school leaders, aspiring leaders and sixth form students: Attend a leadership conference with a difference at Bedales School, working in partnership with the TES on 25 May 2016. The event will give delegates the tools and knowledge to be innovative and creative in how they run a school and the confidence to maintain their individuality. Student delegates will be given the tools to prepare them for taking on leadership roles in their schools. Speakers include Sir Michael Wilshaw, chief inspector and head of Ofsted; Dr Barbara Oakley, creator of the world’s largest Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) Learning how to Learn; Danielle Harlan, founder and CEO at the Center for Advancing Leadership and Human Potential; Professor Bill Lucas, author of Educating Ruby: what our children really need to learn, and creator of the Expansive Education Network, one of the biggest teacher researcher groups in the world; and a range of headteachers with a proven track record of forging their own path, including TES primary school of the year headteacher Mike Fairclough, and Keith Budge, Headmaster of Bedales, who led the introduction of the school’s own alternative qualification to GCSE.
