Published on isbi School News dated Thursday 18th of August 2016

This morning, Bishop’s Stortford College pupils are celebrating another very successful set of A Level results with 81% achieving A* - B and 92% at A* - C. This was one of the largest Upper Sixth Form groups the College has taught, with a near record number of entries, which makes these percentages all the more impressive. “This year group have had an incredibly diverse range of interests outside the classroom as well as a greater than ever uptake of the Extended Project Qualification, which is studied alongside 3 or 4 A Level subjects. The EPQ is an in-depth student-led research project designed to develop their university-style investigative work methods and presentation skills,” commented Jeremy Gladwin, the College Headmaster. He went on to applaud “the passionate and dedicated teachers who have gone beyond all reasonable expectations to assist and guide these students in achieving these excellent results.” Top performers were; Roy Lin - 6 A*, Max Burrows - 4 A*, and Lydia Alexander, Mary Devine, Victoria Farrant, Hardev Matharoo, Claire Moran, Harriet Roberts, Andrius Vaitkus and Andy Wong who all achieved at least 3 A*. 18% of the year group gained 2 or more A* grades. The Lower Sixth are also celebrating a stunning set of AS Level results with a very high proportion of top grades in the exams taken. The College looks forward to welcoming families to their Open Morning on 24th September in the hope that more students will be able to share similar success in the future.
