Year 3 at Hurst Prep School took part in a 'Pyramid Day' to learn more about Ancient Egypt.
Charlie Lupton from Make Your Own History visited the school in September to lead Egyptian activities all day.
The pupils built a pyramid to scale and learned that one limestone block used in the real pyramids weighed the same as 100 children! They were able to chip away at stones using chisels to carve their own heiroglyphs. The children also learned how paper was made from papyrus and how to wrap a mummy in bandages.Published: November 2 2016
