IAPS FDT Conference held at Spratton Hall


On 21st November Spratton Hall had the pleasure of hosting the first IAPS FDT Conference. Mr White, Head of FEDT at Spratton Hall, is the Subject Advisor for Food, Design and Technology for IAPS and organised the event. 10 FDT teachers attended from 10 other prep schools and they all enjoyed a very informative day whilst using our excellent FDT facilities.
The Grain Chain came to give a talk on grain and Barbara Monks, who is a Food Education Consultant, led a practical session making bread, extracting gluten from flour and yeast experiments.
A good Spratton Hall lunch was also enjoyed by all.
Mr White is now very keen to try out all he has learnt with the pupils so hopefully parents and pupils will be enjoying some excellent breads in the near future.
