Prep Pupil Nominated for Regional Award



Prep pupil, Harry Wakefield (L3), has been nominated for the respected Young Sports Person of the Year at the West Norfolk Sports Awards. The ceremony will take place in King’s Lynn on Wednesday 25 January.

The award is given to an under 18 sports person who has not only excelled in their sporting field, but also shown great improvement over time.

Both Harry and his brother Charlie (F4) are sports Scholars at Culford, wtih Harry focused on his badminton accolades; currently holding a national ranking of 6th in the UK for his age group.

In December 2016, Harry competed in a tournament in Ely alongside his brother and two other Culford pupils, Ralph Bartlett (L3) and Will Bettley (L3). All four boys represented Culford in the West Suffolk Badminton Championships and deservingly got through to the County Finals, which take place later this month.

Harry took home his own title in the mixed doubles event, winning two out of the three matches played giving him the well deserved victory.
