Our seniors earned an almost clean sweep of distinctions in their recent ESB exams.
Form 6 took individual grades, particularly impressing the examiner with their maturity in discussing the literary elements of their presentations, and the comment in one report, “You were brilliant in asking and answering questions,” was echoed throughout.
Meanwhile Form 5 had returned to group-speaking, an old Moffats favourite, though rarely attempted by other schools – and the examiner loved it, his final comments summing up his appreciation: “What marvellous cooperation, ingenuity and power. The experience should inspire all of us to learn poetry.”
PS At least one of 5 can now recite the whole of Alfred Noyes’ The Highwayman – a mere ten minutes long!Published: January 17 2017
