ACS Egham students win international school basketball championship for the fifth consecutive time

The boys’ varsity basketball team from ACS Egham International School were crowned champions at the International Schools Sports Association (ISSA) boys’ basketball tournament.

The tournament, hosted by ACS Egham and lasting three days, involved 12 international schools. ACS Egham’s Jaguars didn’t lose a game throughout the championship winning the final round 63-51 over St. Dominic’s International School.

Sean Sonderman, Basketball Coach at ACS Egham, commented:

“I’m proud of our boys’ performances in the tournament. They worked fantastically well together as a team, and the atmosphere in our sports centre was electrifying, with their peers enthusiastically supporting them from the sidelines.

“To have won the tournament for the fifth time in a row is a real achievement, and it’s a real testament to the boys’ teamwork and commitment to training.”

The tournament took place in ACS Egham’s world class Woodlee Sports Centre, which opened in 2012 and is equipped with two competition size basketball courts as well as a dance studio, a fitness suite and an indoor climbing wall.
