New Head appointed at Feltonfleet School

The Board of Governors is delighted to announce Shelley Lance as the new Head, and first Headmistress, of Feltonfleet School from January 2018.

The Governors of Feltonfleet selected Shelley from a strong field of candidates, following a rigorous and intense process.

Shelley, who has been Deputy Head at Feltonfleet since April 2010, began her teaching career at Alleyn’s School in Dulwich, having graduated from King’s College London with a First Class Honours degree in Theology. Following that she taught at Whitgift School, where she was Head of Lower School and responsible for the School’s pastoral care provision. She is married to Ed, who is Head of Lower School at Epsom College and they have a son, Henry, who already attends Calvi House, Feltonfleet’s Pre-Prep School.

Shelley will begin her new role in January 2018 following Alastair Morrison’s return to Scotland to take up a new post at George Heriot’s in Edinburgh.

Mary Jenner, Chairman of Governors, commented, “Feltonfleet has been very fortunate to have had superb headmasters in the past and we are fully confident Shelley has the intellect, drive and determination to take the School forward. Her child centred approach to everything she does will ensure every child continues to really matter at Feltonfleet”.
