ACS Cobham victorious in international volleyball tournament
ACS Cobham reigned victorious in the International School Sports Awards (ISST) girls' volleyball championship last month, November 9-11, with the team triumphing over seven other international schools from across Europe and Africa.
The three-day competition hosted by Vienna International School in Austria, involved schools from Switzerland, Belgium and Egypt.
The tournament, played in a round-robin style, saw Cobham comfortably cruise through a series of matches before facing International School Brussels in the final, beating them 3-1 in the best of four sets.
Dave Schuchter, Head of Sport at ACS Cobham, said of the success: "These tournaments are fantastic opportunities for our teams to experience the international world of sport. We are incredibly proud of our girls' volleyball team who performed exceptionally well in the competitive environment and were gracious in victory."
Various other ISST tournaments took place in November, with ACS Cobham senior girls football team coming second in a competition hosted by American School of the Hague in The Netherlands. The team performed at the highest level throughout the three-day event, falling just short in the championship final to the American School in London following a nail-biting penalty shoot out.
