Year 9 Prepare for the Future with Parent Led Careers Fair

Published on isbi School News dated Friday 27th of July 2018

Students inspired by their parents' careers ahead of choosing their GCSE options To coincide with our Year 9 students’ decision making process as to which subjects they are going to choose for GCSE study, North Bridge House Senior Hampstead organised a special Careers Fair. Providing students with an informed view of a wide range of careers were 27 of our very own high-achieving parents, each with children in different year groups at NBH Hampstead. This was the first Careers Fair of its kind with our parent body coming along to share their own knowledge and expertise with our students, who were keen to find out more about their industries. Some of the industries included publishing, architecture, law, banking, media, entertainment, fashion, healthcare and IT. There were an array of job titles within these sectors, which included barrister, managing director, author, dietitian, publisher, Minister-Counsellor, solicitor, plus many more. Headteacher Mr Pavey said: “The Careers Fair was wonderful to experience. The support from parents was fantastic and I know the students will have taken so much out of it.” A big thank you to all parents who took the time to attend the Careers Fair and engage students in such a great event!
