Dies provocare Duncombe Latine

If it’s been a while since you were last in 3rd Form Latin and you’re looking at the headline scratching your head, check in with your children – they will be a Latin expert after Ms Cartwright’s fantastic Latin Challenge Day this week. The fun was definitely injected into this interesting ancient language with a treasure hunt, songs, including ‘He’s got the whole world in his hands’ sung in Latin and, a favourite with the Roman intelligentsia – logic games. However, the highlight of the day has to be the Duncombe archaeological dig down in the Dell. The children had enormous fun using brushes and trowels unearthing a variety of Roman artefacts. Prof. Mary Beard would be so proud! Enormous thanks to Ms Cartwright for organising such an engaging and interesting day.
