Open Morning at The Duke of York's Royal Military School
Prospective students and parents will be able to tour the Duke of York’s Royal Military School on Saturday, October 5, to view the excellent educational and recreational facilities for weekly and full-time boarding students aged 11 to 18.
Open morning attendance at the Dover school for all year groups including Sixth Form is by registration only – visit www.doyrms.com to book a place.
The historic school set in 150 acres of Kent countryside has long been a favourite with military families but is now open to all and attracts students from non-military families interested in combining academic success with an active lifestyle.
At the open morning, which starts at 9am, school tours will be hosted by current students, and key teaching staff will be on hand to help with any questions. Visitors will be able to view impressive and well equipped classrooms, state-of-the-art sports facilities, dedicated music, drama and dance resources, and specially-designed boarding houses. In addition, those considering Sixth Form will be able to view the purpose-built Centenary House with en-suite rooms and new Year 12 - 13 learning hub. Sporting and ceremonial activities will take place, ending with an informal buffet lunch.
Alex Foreman, School Principal, said: “This year’s A Level and GCSE results were outstanding and way above the national average. Our students enjoy a supportive community with plenty of active lifestyle opportunities to develop character and life skills. Those considering our school will also be able to meet our greatest assets – our students.”
