Kingswood's French Department enjoy a trip to Paris

Over the half term holidays, the French Department took 51 Year 8 and 9 students to Paris for four days.

During their short stay, the group embraced their busy schedule with great enthusiasm. On their first day, the group stopped for lunch in the Jardins du Luxembourg and later made their way to the Pantheon, a stunning mausoleum containing the remains of distinguished French writers such Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, Voltaire and Emile Zola. The group also visited the Catacombs, an 20 meters deep underground ossuary.

The following day, the students spent the day in Disneyland Paris, where they enjoyed dinner at Planet Hollywood. In the evening, they admired Paris by night from the now second highest tower in France, la Tour Montparnasse.

A cruise on the river Seine was the perfect way to see the Notre Dame Cathedral, now inaccessible to the public following the fire last April. Other scheduled activities included a tour of the Stade de France and a delicious visit to the Beussent chocolate factory.
