Norwich High Girls Make Time for Tea AND RAISE MONEY FOR THE EVE APPEAL

Staff and sixth formers at Norwich High School for Girls took a step back in time last week as they gathered for a Vintage Tea Party, held in aid of The Eve Appeal, gynaecological cancer research charity.

We enjoyed a sociable evening of sipping tea and eating home-made buns and cakes, explained Diana Howes (18), event organiser and sixth former at the school. We were serenaded by real vinyl records and everyone dressed up and took part in party games! The final game of musical chairs was particularly memorable!
The tea party formed part of the Eve Appeals Make Time for Tea campaign, helping to raise funds for ground-breaking research into ovarian cancer. Almost 6,500 women in the UK are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year and 4,400 will die. Grim statistics, yet funding and awareness of ovarian cancer remains low.
This year - the Queen's Diamond Jubilee supporters were invited to celebrate vintage glamour: fabulous frocks, retro crockery, kitsch cupcakes... so Norwich High dug out the porcelain and organised party games for some classic fun at a quintessentially British tea party.
I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came and supported the event and to those people who made cakes and lent us equipment. We raised 130," commented Diana.
