Meriam Altaf - Ukranian Pupil at Fyling Hall School age 23
Education is the key to success and Fyling Hall has this key.
When I first arrived at the school I was very confused and scared of being in the new environment. However, after a few months I have understood that this is the best thing that could possibly happen to me. As Fyling Hall is a very multicultural school I had the opportunity to learn new languages, cultures and traditions from all over the world.
The school gives all and everything to their pupils in order to make them responsible and bright young adults. Fyling Hall is safe and secure, and it is the duty of teachers and matrons to make sure that every student is fed, attends classes, exercises, and sleeps not less than 7 hours before the next school day. This is perhaps the biggest difference between Fyling Hall and other schools.
In Fyling Hall I felt as if I am part of the family, which will stay in my heart forever. After finishing my A-levels I decided to continue my education in the UK and applied to Anglia Ruskin University which is located in Cambridge. All the skills that I gained in Fyling Hall helped me to quickly adapt to the new environment and achieve an incredible results.
At the moment I am a third year law student, winner of the several scholarships for the research projects and a Vice-President of the Law Society. I also had a great pleasure in representing my university in several mooting competitions against Kings College London, East Anglia University, University of Hertfordshire and University of Cambridge which all resulted in winning. All this success is due to hard work, however the biggest contributor is and always will be the boarding school which I attended for three years. Those years made me who I am today. Fyling Hall helped me to build myself and when I was ready they had to let me go into the bigger world to continue pursuing my dreams with the knowledge and friendships for life.
