Wycliffe is a thriving day, boarding and flexi-boarding school set conveniently within the heart of the Cotswolds. The school has excellent links to London both by road and rail, is close to the amenities offered in Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath making Wycliffe an ideal destination for students who want all the advantages of a contemporary environment without the distractions of studying in a large city.
The school is committed to fostering individual learning in all areas of the curriculum and pupils benefit from small class sizes with a high teacher to pupil ratio. One of Wycliffe’s aims is to cultivate each pupil’s unique talents and bring out the best in its pupils by creating a supportive learning environment which promotes individual achievements in all fields. Specialist teachers ensure outstanding teaching delivery across the curriculum and a wide variety of co-curricular activities enables the school to offer a fully-rounded education designed to develop confidence and self-esteem.
Despite being a non-selective school academic achievements are high. Its provision for gifted and talented pupils has been recognised with the award of the NACE (National Association for Able Children in Education) Challenge Award. Wycliffe also has CReSTeD accreditation which recognises and praises the way in which the school develops the skills of pupils with specific learning difficulties.
For the eighth year in succession, the pass rate at A-level was 100%, with over 60% of our pupils achieving A to B grades over the same period. The GCSE pass rate is also high, with 90% of pupils gaining A* to C grades. There are over 29 subjects available at AS level including Theatre Studies, Media Studies, Travel and Tourism, Psychology and Japanese. Wycliffe also offer a BTEC National Diploma in Sport, a diverse syllabus which offers the equivalent of up to 2 A levels. In the recent Government value added league tables (contextualized value added), Wycliffe achieved at A level a score of 1026.2 (‘average’ is 1000) which places Wycliffe within the top 10% of schools for A levels in the country. It means the school adds more value to a child’s education at A level than more than 90% of schools.
Wycliffe is very experienced in the education of pupils of UK parents living overseas. We offer a very high standard of pastoral care, excellent weekend activities with organised trips to the theatre, Drayton Manor Theme Park, ice skating and when warmer, barbeques on the campus or picnics at Stratford Park.
