A Word from the Head

It was founded in 1919 and is now part of the Cognita Group of Schools.
It is situated in the Uplands area of Swansea, adjoining the beautiful Cwmdonkin Park. It houses a multipurpose hall, modern dining facilities, a computer suite and a range of specialist classrooms. There is a designated Nursery area, a large playground for all and a wooded area which has been developed into a nature reserve by staff and pupils, providing a valuable on-site resource.

A dedicated team of staff is well qualified to deal with children across the age and ability range. Teachers plan a broad, modern curriculum, set clear goals and attach great importance to good manners and the development of self-discipline.
Physical exercise is a vital component of school life. Pupils have the opportunity to play football, rugby, netball, tennis and hockey and to swim in the Welsh National Pool. Matches and tournaments are arranged against other schools.
Pupils contribute immensely to the busy life of the school through team sports, orchestra, chess and a variety of other after-school and lunchtime clubs. There is a choir of note and all pupils take part in the annual Christmas production.
In addition to class Music and Drama, optional extra lessons are offered in a range of instruments, Speech, Drama and Ballet. Examination results in these subjects are consistently outstanding.
