Prior Park Preparatory School is a vibrant and flourishing school, conveniently situated midway between Swindon and Cirencester on the edge of the Cotswolds. Our Pre-Prep department for children aged 4 - 7 opened in September 2009 and is sited in self-contained premises and a tranquil walled garden within the main school grounds. Our nursery for children aged 3 years opened in 2010.

Over the last few years the campus has undergone considerable development to meet the needs of a thriving, modern, co-educational day and boarding Preparatory school. A large Sports Hall has been built, the ICT suite has been refurbished to include the latest flat screen technology, the Art Studio has been redesigned and a kiln installed, the two Science labs have been modernised and interactive whiteboards have been installed in some classrooms. An astro-turf pitch provides all year round facilities complementing our extensive sports fields.

Boarding at Prior Park is an exciting and established feature of the school and an area of real growth in recent years. Experienced staff who live on site create a happy, family atmosphere where boarders feel safe, secure and supported. Boarding pupils include international students, some from Armed Forces families and others whose parents simply wish them to experience boarding life. Pupils have bedroom and sitting room areas which encourage their individuality and an extensive range of activities to keep them occupied. Use of the adventure playground, the Sports Hall and the outdoor heated swimming pool all enhance imaginative play and relaxation time. On Sundays the ‘family outing’ is a tradition and one of the highlights of the week.

Pupils are welcomed into the school across the ability and age ranges, and are taught in small classes of between 10 and 20 pupils. Prior Park is a Catholic Christian school, part of the Prior Park Foundation, with children of all religions attending and being made welcome.

All pupils are prepared for Common Entrance or Scholarship examinations into a wide range of senior schools, with about half continuing their education at Prior Park College in Bath. Other children progress to schools in Cheltenham or further afield and scholarships awarded regularly include academic, all rounder, music, art, sport, languages and leadership awards.

The school offers a physical education programme which encompasses a wide range of sports from rugby and netball to fencing, tennis and golf. All children have the chance to represent the school in sports fixtures during their school careers and there is a healthy emphasis on enjoyment, fitness and competition.

Drama and music flourish with regular performances and concerts throughout the year. Our musicians, singers and public speakers take part in local events and festivals to a very high level with many gaining distinctions.

The school is CReSTeD registered and children are screened for dyslexic and other learning difficulties. Provision is made for those children for whom English is a foreign language.

The Registrar would be very pleased to send a prospectus or to welcome visitors to see round the school. Taster days for prospective pupils can also be arranged.

Charitable Status. Prior Park is a Registered Charity, number 281242. It exists solely to provide education for boys and girls.
